Juan helps Chief Investment Officers and asset allocation teams answer one of the most critical questions in investing: how to structure a global multi-asset portfolio to maximize risk-adjusted returns over both tactical and strategic horizons. His work synthesizes BCA's broad macro and geopolitical research into concrete portfolio construction guidance — covering everything from capital market assumptions to the role of geopolitics in long-term allocation.
As Joint Head of Portfolio Construction, Juan advises some of the world's largest institutional investors — including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, and family offices — on optimal portfolio structure across liquid and illiquid assets, with both 6–18 month and 5–10 year views.
Juan began his career at BCA in 2015 and progressed through roles spanning Emerging Markets Strategy, Foreign Exchange, and Global Asset Allocation before becoming Chief Strategist.
