Marko Papic
Marko leads BCA Research’s premier service, BCA Access and produces the financial industry’s first discretionary macro-geopolitical investment strategy, GeoMacro Research.

As the firm’s macro concierge, he is the focal point to access the firm’s vast expert network, consulting and speaker partnerships and custom research needs. He also founded BCA’s Geopolitical Strategy service that identifies gaps between the market’s political expectations and the firm’s forecasts.

Marko’s constraints-based framework for investors is detailed in his book, Geopolitical Alpha: An Investment Framework for Predicting the Future. Prior to BCA, he was a Partner and Chief Strategist at Clocktower Group, an alternative asset management firm, where he provided institutional investors with market insights and helped seed discretionary macro hedge funds. His work on incorporating geopolitics into the asset management industry has become part of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) curriculum and is featured in the forthcoming The Palgrave Handbook of Contemporary Geopolitics.

He began his career as a Senior Analyst at Stratfor and has lectured at Stanford University, The Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown, School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins, Rotman School of Management at University of Toronto, McGill University, and the University of British Columbia (UBC). He holds graduate degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and the University of British Columbia. Born in Belgrade, Serbia, he has lived in Iraq, Jordan, Switzerland, Canada, and the U.S. When he isn’t writing research, you can find him coaching his kids’ basketball games or playing with locals on the neighborhood court.
